EQUESTRIAN TRAINING CENTER
The Equestrian Training Center
is expanding and by 2008, Pearblossom expects to accommodate open
boarding with the conducting of formal clinics and shows.
Enrolled students that are interested in horsemanship and/or horse
related careers are encouraged to take advantage of Pearblossom's
hands-on facility.
Both local students and those visiting from out of state regions
enjoy learning about natural hoof care (including trimming), and
natural horse handling. At various times during the year, students
are also exposed to equine dentistry, chiropractic, massage therapy,
and showmanship.
Pearblossom is located on a 5+ acre facility and students can participate
in hunters/jumpers, dressage, and freestyle riding lessons under
a qualified instructor with 30 years experience. The main arena
is 144' x 168' and is lighted. It contains a variety of single and
combination jumps. Also, there is a 60' round pen and two additional
100'x200' arenas, one of which contains cross-country style jumps.

Students that have access to training facilities in their
area and participate in lessons or in shows can receive elective
credit in horsemanship. Further details are provided upon
enrollment. Schooling horses are available to visiting students.

you don't have to use a bit to force him to stop or slow down; (d)
his is willing to move forward; you don't have to kick or use
spurs; (e) he stands quietly for saddling and willingly picks up
his feet for cleaning; (f) his attitude toward you is positive and

and becoming more inventive in your horsemanship. Harmony with
your horse means (a) you can communicate on longer lines, at
greater distances--heading towards Liberty; (b) Liberty--the
thrill of playing with horses with "no strings attached;" (c)
Impulsion by slowing down the fast horse and energizing the lazy
one; (d) developing an independent seat; (e) the pleasure of
positive reflexes--snappy happy responses; (f) being in tune with
your horse mentally, emotionally and physically; (g) knowing the
simple, infallible dynamics of leads and lead changes; (h) the
beginnings of finesse--the soft feel; (i) developing the four
savvys in the art of horsemanship; real savvy and real results
come when you learn how to have harmony both on the ground (on
line and Liberty) and on the horse's back (freestyle and finesse).

to happen naturally! Here is where you really experience
lightness. Learn how to achieve softness, lightness and grace
along with the fundamentals for more complicated maneuvers both on
the ground and on your horse's back. Refinement means (a) your
aids are invisible; (b) you can ride confidently without anything
on your horse's head; (c) your horse has mental, emotional and
physical collection, not just a "head set;" (d) you and your horse
are the picture of grace and finesse; (e) teaching your horse to
run to you; (f) using the round corral for teaching advanced
maneuvers, such as flying lead changes; (g) graceful transitions
and snappy departures with invisible aids are easy; (h) performing
lateral movements at the trot and canter; (i) understanding riding
positions that enhance collection; (j) your horse moves freely
"within a frame," without brace and tension; (k) developing
lateral flexion into vertical flexion; (l) you can effectively use
vertical flexion to add power, suspension and dimension. Note:
Levels 1 and 2 are important prerequisites.
